To finish Forge It Anew in The Blood of Dawnwalker, collect the three shards from Do Not Disturb, Hostile Takeover and Executive Order, obtain the Broken Sword of St. Mihai through A Monk and a Saint, and take all four components to the Uriashi Hermitage blacksmith. Complete the nearby tempering ritual to receive the legendary Imbued Sword of St. Mihai. The blacksmith’s first reward is the Restored Sword; the ritual is the final upgrade.

Sword restoration checkpoints
  1. Collect four components

Three named shard branches plus Broken Sword of St. Mihai.

  2. Reforge at Uriashi

Deliver the components at Uriashi Hermitage to receive the Restored Sword.

  3. Complete the ritual

Climb through the nearby cave, activate the red orb and defeat its waves.

All three sword shards and the missing hilt

ComponentRoute and landmarkWhat to collect
Do Not Disturb shardMaragir Wealds cave, north of Upper Maragir Wealds shrineShard near the broken altar or cross; inspect the wall drawing
Hostile Takeover shardCave northwest of Shrike’s Crag, southwest of ParlitaShard in the nest after Munch-Munch
Executive Order shardInvestigate the cave east in St. Tyna’s Grove; follow the new camp markerShard inside the soldiers’ main tent
Sword hiltA Monk and a Saint in Svartrau, reached through Night Terrors or an Infamy letterBroken Sword of St. Mihai

These are component routes, not a mandatory numbered collection order. Discovering a shard can start the broader quest, and the cave drawings help locate the other branches. The VGC shard guide supplies the landmark-based directions above.

Start with the accessible Maragir cave, then collect branches near your active journeys. Track the hilt alongside the shards so your forge trip includes all four components.

Do Not Disturb: find the Maragir cave and drawing

Search the woods north of Upper Maragir Wealds shrine, east of Mert’s Mill. Focus Mode helps follow the campsite evidence toward the cave. At the end, collect the fragment by the broken altar and inspect the wall drawing before leaving.

Use two completion checks for this stop: the fragment has been collected, and the other shard leads are available to track. Seeing a drawing is not the same as interacting with it. If you leave with only the fragment, return to the final room and inspect the image instead of trying to guess two distant cave entrances.

Check the journal before placing your next pin. Match the branch name to the component table rather than another guide's shard number, which depends on discovery order.

Hostile Takeover: defeat Munch-Munch and search the nest

The cave near Shrike’s Crag has a low entrance with a white X above it. Use that mark to identify the opening, crouch through, defeat Munch-Munch, and inspect the nest at the back. The boss and the loot interaction are separate steps: finish both before returning to the surface.

Prepare this branch as a combat stop. Refill healing, use equipment you can handle comfortably, and save outside the cave before committing. If the encounter is much harder than the previous cave, postpone it until your defence and damage improve; discovering the marker does not require completing the fight immediately.

After winning, spend a moment checking the room rather than leaving on the first reward notification. A boss drop and a quest fragment may come from different interactions. Verify the named shard objective has cleared before using fast travel or switching to another quest.

Executive Order: the shard is in the soldiers’ tent

At the St. Tyna’s Grove cave, inspect the bodies and wall drawing with Focus Mode. This branch sends you onward to a soldiers’ camp. At the camp, clear the opposition and search the main tent for the fragment; it is not still waiting in the original cave.

PowerPyx’s Forge It Anew walkthrough identifies the camp as a Xanthe Court activity and reports level-25-plus enemies. Use that as a preparation warning rather than a requirement to arrive at an exact character level. If your current attacks barely affect the soldiers, return after improving the build you actually use.

The key troubleshooting split is the location of the current marker. If it still points into the cave, finish the evidence interactions. If it points to the camp, stop searching the nest and follow the updated lead. After combat, inspect the tent with Focus Mode and confirm the fragment pickup before leaving.

Get the hilt, then visit the Uriashi blacksmith

The fourth component comes from A Monk and a Saint in Svartrau. Its inventory name is Broken Sword of St. Mihai. Once you have that and all three shards, follow Forge It Anew to the specialist blacksmith at Uriashi Hermitage.

There are two entry routes to the hilt quest: Night Terrors at the cathedral’s northern courtyard well at night, or a letter at Infamy level four leading toward Albertus and A Dubious Gift. PowerPyx documents these as mutually exclusive routes in its A Monk and a Saint guide. Both lead to the sword; choose the letter route if preserving the A Dubious Gift Court activity is your priority. Keep a save before approaching the cathedral at night.

The forge is in eastern Briar Sloughs at Uriashi Hermitage shrine. Use that named destination when arriving from a different shard branch. Activate the shrine when convenient, so a return for a missed component does not require retracing the full wilderness route.

Before the forge conversation, compare all four components with the table and choose the quest-related dialogue. If every component is present but crafting is still unavailable, check the installed version: the official Hotfix 1.0.2 notice specifically records a fix for the Uriashi blacksmith's holy-sword crafting. This is a named fix, rather than a reason to recollect every shard.

The forging step yields the Restored Sword of St. Mihai. Keep following the quest after receiving it. The difference between Broken, Restored and Imbued describes three stages of the same acquisition route, so the purple reward is a useful checkpoint rather than proof the legendary objective has finished.

Temper the restored sword and claim Arbiter’s Blade

Follow the blacksmith’s lead to the cave just northwest of the hermitage. Clear the enemies, climb to the upper route and pass through the door into the ritual room. Interact with the red orb, then defeat the summoned waves. The reward is the Imbued Sword of St. Mihai and the Arbiter’s Blade achievement.

Before this last trip, make a separate save after reforging and refill supplies. That keeps the collection stage secure while you work on the ritual encounter. Compare the new sword with your current weapon after the reward, rather than changing your entire build in the middle of a multi-wave fight.

PowerPyx reports 14 segments for its full component-and-ritual route, but its hilt walkthrough reports variable costs depending on the chosen path. Use 14 as a planning reference, then total your live hourglass prompts rather than assuming every route costs exactly the same. Our best-weapons guide compares shorter alternatives if a long legendary route does not fit your remaining time.

Sources and route-planning notes

Route interactions were rechecked October 19, 2026 against the linked PowerPyx walkthrough; the crafting fix was checked in the official Steam notice. The earlier landmark review also used VGC and GamesRadar. The route diagram, component checks and save plan are original editorial organisation, not personal gameplay test results.

For a convenient travel loop, combine the city hilt route with Ocha’s quest, then plan the wilderness stops using the location directory. Check any active quest deadlines before turning that suggestion into a detour.
