New Game Plus has been announced for The Blood of Dawnwalker, but the official Steam announcements checked on October 10, 2026 do not provide a release notice or carryover rules. To replay a quest choice now, load a manual save from before that choice; to try a different opening build, start a separate campaign. Keep your completed character’s save in its own slot. An earlier save restores the equipment, skills, quests, and calendar recorded at that moment, so it cannot transfer your later character into an earlier chapter.

New Game Plus announcement and update status

Director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz said the mode is coming during a PlayStation Polska stream. GamesRadar’s September 17 report links the developer’s stream at the relevant timestamp. The report supplies the announcement; it does not supply an equipment checklist, enemy-scaling specification, or release date.

The official Steam announcement feed was checked separately for a released feature notice. Its Hotfix 1.0.5 entry concerns shader compilation. Treat a developer’s intention and a shipped game mode as separate checkpoints: when an NG+ update is released, use that update’s instructions and requirements.

Before changing a save for a future mode, keep a separate copy through the save options your platform actually supports. Check the installed version and official announcement rather than following an alleged unlock procedure that asks you to delete progress.

Which replay method fits your goal?

Your goalPractical methodWhat happens to progression
Compare one quest dialogueLoad a save before the conversationReturns to that save’s character and calendar
Compare late ending choicesLoad a prepared pre-finale branchPreserves only the prerequisites already present there
Explore an area you missedContinue an available campaign saveUses that campaign’s existing world state
Try a different opening buildStart a separate campaignBuilds a new character from the beginning
Carry a completed build into a restarted storyFollow the released NG+ instructions when availableRequires the mode’s actual carryover specification

Choose the smallest replay that includes the decision you want to change. A save made after a person died cannot restore that person merely because you later choose another ending. Likewise, a pre-finale save does not rewind completed side quests. Identify the prerequisite first, then select an earlier slot that still contains it.

Protect three useful save checkpoints

Keep an opening branch before the commitment in Sacred Covenant. Finish Esme’s medicine first, then decide which prologue errands matter to this version of Coen. This checkpoint is useful for comparing Blasphemy or other opening choices; it does not store later vampire skills or legendary equipment.

Keep a separate quest branch immediately before a choice with a lasting consequence. For The Heart Wants What It Wants, save before committing to the ritual or direct fight. For Blasphemy, save before accusing Premysl and deciding whether to return the banner. The specific choice matters more than an arbitrary campaign day.

Finally, protect a pre-finale save after preparing the ally and Court routes you want to compare. Record who is alive, which chains are finished, and whether the family deadline remains. Consult the endings guide before the assault so your slot contains the required groundwork.

Replay endings without rebuilding the whole campaign

A shared late save works only for outcomes whose earlier requirements overlap. Complete the relevant preparations before making that shared checkpoint, then use a new working slot for each finale attempt. Keep the anchor intact until you have seen the result and checked which achievement or epilogue you were pursuing.

Some outcomes belong to much earlier decisions. The prologue double-boss challenge needs its own early branch; a save outside Griefberg Castle cannot recreate it. A dream route and leaving the valley also use different triggers from defeating Brencis. The ending comparison explains these paths instead of treating every ending as a final dialogue option.

If the thirty-day deadline expires, the family outcome changes, but the campaign can continue. Decide whether your goal is exploration in that world state or returning to a rescue attempt. For the latter, load an earlier protected save rather than starting over automatically.

Test a different build with an earlier purchase save

Make a manual save before spending a group of skill points or committing to a costly upgrade. Record the manuals in inventory and the node prerequisites visible at the shrine. Test the purchase against a nearby ordinary encounter, then reload the earlier save if you want to compare a different allocation.

This compares builds from the same recorded state without assuming a universal free respec. It also exposes a practical constraint: a guide may recommend an active ability that needs a manual you have not found. Use the manual locations in the build guide before planning a loadout around an unavailable tool.

If you only want to change your existing character's skills, check the announced Update 1.1 respec before starting another campaign. Draught of Mind Rebirth is planned for reallocating abilities; New Game Plus concerns restarting the story with a carried character. Keep your finished save while choosing which replay task you actually want.

Keep a completed sword route in the right slot

If you finished Forge It Anew, retain a save after the final imbuement. A slot containing Restored Sword of St. Mihai still precedes the ritual; it does not preserve the final Imbued Sword of St. Mihai.

Keep another earlier slot if you want to compare the mutually exclusive hilt approaches. Night Terrors and the letter-led A Dubious Gift route are not interchangeable steps once one has closed the other. The component guide identifies where the branches meet, so you can replay the choice without collecting every shard twice.

What to check when NG+ instructions are published

Read the release notice for the required completion state, supported platforms, how to start the cycle, and which skills, equipment, quest items, and map discoveries transfer. Check how the calendar and enemy difficulty behave. A familiar genre convention is not confirmation that this game uses it.

Before accepting the restart prompt, verify that the source slot contains the character you intend to carry forward. Keep the original slot until the new cycle loads and the transferred items match the published rules. This checklist is a preparation recommendation, not an invented feature specification.

Sources and review scope

Announcement reporting and official Steam notices were reviewed on October 10, 2026. The save checkpoints and replay comparisons are this site’s editorial recommendations; linked walkthroughs cite their quest sources. Unsupported carryover confirmations, predicted scaling, and a promised major-update window have been removed. Our editorial policy distinguishes source review from personal gameplay testing.
